Ian was raised on a sheep farm in Western NSW, ran away
to join the circus, failed the audition and ended up in film
and television. Ian has approximately 25 years experience
working in most areas of film and TV. He prefers to be on
the road with microphones, mixers and directors, who don’t
talk during atmos recording. Known as one the most laid
back sound recordists on two legs, he has spent many
years in remote locations such as PNG, East Timor, and
outback Australia." Working on Cane Toads 2 has been
perhaps one the most challenging and unique experiences
to date".
Ian hopes one day motorized tools, light aircraft and car
stereos will be outlawed and the business of sound recording
can carry on uninterrupted.
